Visiting the region of the Delta do Parnaíba, localized in one of the most inhospitable regions of Piauí, is something extraordinary. The only delta that flows into the ocean in the Americas is surrounded by 70 islands, thrilling tracks, boat tours and walk tours around beaches that seem that came out of a dream.
The enigmatic Delta do Parnaíba is impressive since the beginning. The biodiversity is unique in the country as well as the plethora of environments. The Delta mixes in one only region, forests, marsh, sandbank, dunes and even fields. The best way of visiting the place is by the boat tour that goes along landscapes still isolated from any kind of civilization.
The number of birds and big animal is impressive, as well as the hugeness of paradisiacal landscapes with 2.700 square kilometers of extension from the Atlantic ocean to the countryside of the state of Piauí.
The place is a real ecological sanctuary ready to be visited by many different ways. The dunes of up to 30 meters and green rivers have, besides some unique species of plants, animals like Lobo-guará, turtles, monkeys and around 150 beautiful bird species.

Even with a drier weather, the Caatinga is one of the most beautiful and expressive Brazilian biomes. Its extraordinary twisted trees and vegetation: with bushes that are home for an incredible variety of animal species. During the rainy season, the scenery changes, with green leaves and flowers of different colors.
The Caatinga is so diverse that 327 species, including mammals and birds, only exist there. The vegetation is also important: there are almost 330 species that only grow there. The astonishing landscape has also many rivulets, perfect for bathing while trekking.
This kind of biome is only found in Brazil and occupies around 10% of the Brazilian territory. Because of the high biodiversity, the Caatinga is considered a rich genetic bank.
In this biome, that extends from the North of Minas Gerais up to the Northeast states, such as Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte, you can find Preás (little rodent also know as guinea pig), deers, armadillos, monkeys, and, if you’re lucky, the Ariranha-azul, a rare bird threatened with extinction.
