Amazônia is an extraordinary destination with an abundance of surprises. With one of the biggest diversity of fauna and flora of the world, this magnificent forest is home for not only 55 thousand species of plants and more than 700 of birds, but also the biggest river of the world with many hotels in the middle of the forest and also authentic experiences with native Indians.

 

Everything in this region is big. Its area corresponds to 30 European countries. Amazônia is one of the best places of the world for bird watching and other animal species and its biodiversity is so big that even today there are some species still unknown.

 

And also, there’s the sublime Amazonas river, the biggest of the world with around 6.500 km of extension. Boat trips, canoeing, trekking, wildlife watching, and still many other activities can be practiced there.

 

Some of the most visited destinations are: the magnificent Alter do Chão, with its fluvial beaches, Alta Floresta, in the heart of the forest and Santarém, that is between the rivers Amazonas and Tapajós.

 Marajó Island is another extraordinary destination. Inhabited by a huge cattle of bulls, the island of the Pará state has an authentic culture and marvelous landscapes.


It occupies a huge part of Northern Brazil, making of it a truly spectacle. Its incredible vegetation includes trees up to 60 meters high. This preserved scenery is one of the richest in biodiversity of the world, home for almost 65 ethnic groups and it’s also where you will find the Amazon River.

It’s estimated that almost 30% of all vegetation in Latin America is in Amazon. The forest, with 4.1 million square meters, is very dense and home for the main hydrographical basins of the country – that can reach 7 million square kilometers.

 

The rivers are the main kind of transportation in this truly natural paradise. Besides Amazonas, there are Solimões, Madeira, Negro and many other rivers around this region.
